Whether it’s Pancake day or you just fancy something a bit extra for breakfast or as a pudding, here are a few recipes to try that are Slimming World & waist friendly
Oat Pancakes

Serves 1 – 1 Healthy Extra & 1 Syn
- 40g of oats – I blitz mine so it looks like Ready Brek
- 2 tbsp of fat free greek/greek style yoghurt (if using a flavoured yoghurt don’t forget to Syn it)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp sweetener
Mix of the ingredients together & let it sit for 10 – 15 minutes. Spray a good non stick frying pan with a low cal oil & spoon in a few pancakes at a time, when they start to bubble slightly on top, flip them over. I often make a batch of these & then reheat them in the microwave when I am ready to enjoy
Banana Pancakes
Serves 2 (or 1 big portion) – Technically 4 Syns
- 1 Banana
- 2 Eggs
These are my favourite pancakes & remind me of the crepe style one’s my Grandma made us as kids. Mash the banana into oblivion & whisk in the 2 eggs, I keep whisking until I get a fluffy mixture & fry off the same as the oat pancakes above. Technically on Slimming World you should be Synning the mashed/cooked banana, this is because there is a danger of over eating them, more so than what you might normally eat in a day, but I get so many pancakes out of this one recipe that I split it between 2 of us, so I choose not to Syn it.
Real Pancakes
Serves 2 – makes 12 pancakes – 20 Syns
- 100g Plain flour
- 300ml Skimmed milk
- 2 Eggs
If only the real thing will do, then you absolutely can still enjoy some proper crepes within your Syns. Mix all of these ingredients together, make sure you have no white flour lumps lurking & get the whisking arm into over drive. Pour into a non-stick frying pan, cook & enjoy!
Toppings!
Let’s be honest, this is the fun part of having pancakes! And this is where I like to spend my Syns. Here’s a few suggestions of what we love in our hoose…
- Mini Marshmallows
- Maple Syrup (surprisingly not that high in Syns & totally worth it)
- Chocolate spread
- Biscoff Spread (with both of these, they go a lot further if you melt them!)
- Carnation Caramel Sauce (this stuff is amazing!!!!!)
- Light Squirty Cream
- Low Cal Ice Cream (Grahams, Halo Top etc)
- Choc Shot Sauces (lots of different flavours available)
- Chopped up Hifi Bars
