Slimming World

Hello! I started this blog as a way of saving recipes & weekly meal plans as I regularly suffer with Brain Farts because of Fibromyalgia (not fun in the slightest but hey ho!) But also to show that doing Slimming World doesn’t have to be expensive or boring.

I am a member, first & foremost, a Slimming World consultant, a Mum & a wife & I am cooking for a family of 5. You will not find Syn values on any of my recipes, that is for you to work out, don’t be whiny about it either cos thems the rules. Syns change often so to stay up to date use your book or the Slimming World website.

Food & dieting doesn’t have to be strict, you don’t need to deprive yourself. I love making interesting, exciting meals that doesn’t feel like ‘diet’ food. I cannot stand boring or beige meals & I believe this is why so many people give up on trying to lose weight. If you are absolutely loving & looking forward to your meal plan, then the rest is easy!

I love to eat A LOT, we are a family of big eaters, we like big filling meals & I find this helps me to not snack as much too (though occasionally the snack monster finds me & literally force feeds me chocolate)

You will meet people who will tell you not to eat all that pasta, or to avoid carbs, or that you should join a gym because exercising is best for losing weight (it’s not, IMO it’s best for your mental health) but ignore all those losers! You’re with us now & we got ya back, Jack! Following Slimming World’s Food Optimising plan, is the easiest way for me to lose weight & keep it off & it is for many, but the REAL secret to making SW plan work for you?

My Story

So I joined a local Slimming World group back in January 2015, the reasons for joining where pretty much the same as everyone else, I wanted to be healthy for my daughter, feel fitter, I wanted to have more confidence & not be known as the โ€œbubblyโ€ friendโ€ฆ โ€œah Mel is lovely, sheโ€™s so bubblyโ€ โ€ฆ Iโ€™m sure bubbly is just a term people use for those that are overweight, sheโ€™s chubby but sheโ€™s got a good personality & she’s funny. Please.

I lost 6st 7lbs over 2 years, I was in no rush to get to Target. I was just happy to see the number on the scales go down each week, I was never a big loser either, my average was probably 1 โ€“ 1.5 lbs each week but I was still living my best life, life doesnโ€™t need to stop just because you want to lose weight. I have battled many demons over the last 5 years, thereโ€™s no mind like a slimmers mind! So let me share with you how I do me, so it can help you do you.
